OVERVIEW

The purpose of this CME is to provide an overview of medical cannabis within the current legal framework in the United States.  At least 33 States have now legalized medical cannabis with over 3 million registered state-legal patients.  This number is projected to increase over the next few decades as patients are increasingly relying on cannabis as an alternative to pharmaceuticals in treating their ailments.

More than ever, it is critical for physicians, dentist and healthcare professionals to understand the impact of medical cannabis on their patients and create a mechanism to effectively communicate with their patients who are cannabis users. This course will address several key regulatory, clinical and communication issues facing physicians, dentists and healthcare professionals when discussing the medical use of marijuana with their patients.
